In 1955, Eagle Transfer Company pioneered the area's piggyback business with Great Northern Transport. This served as the foundation for Eagle Systems, Inc.
Following deregulation in the trucking industry, Eagle Systems, Inc. began expansion of its intermodal trucking operations on the west coast. In 1997, Eagle acquired an east coast intermodal trucking operation. The company has continued expanding and has become a leader in the intermodal industry. Currently, Eagle Systems, Inc. operates nationwide and in western Canada.
Eagle has been providing intermodal terminal operations services since 1955. In early 2002, this division was spun off into Eagle Intermodal Services, Inc.
EISI provides ramp/deramp services placing trailers and containers on and off railroad flatcars; maintenance of lift equipment; container and chassis repair; and, a variety of administrative and management services principally to Class 1 railroads.
Eagle Intermodal Services, Inc. has grown into a major supplier of intermodal terminal services in the United States.
Eagle Transfer Company was founded in Wenatchee, WA, in 1903. The company built a large barn directly in the center of the young town and has been in continuous operations since that time. In the early years, Eagle Livery provided drayage between the boat landings on the Columbia river and area businesses, rented rigs and teams, crated and moved household goods and delivered coal and wood.
The company dropped the livery portion of their name and evolved into interstate household goods moving and storage in the 1930's. At that time, they served all the Western United States and Alaska with their own operating authority. In 1955, Eagle Transfer pioneered the first "piggyback" operations in North Central Washington with Great Northern Railway. They established a circus ramp at Wenatchee and operated it until Burlington Northern closed the facility in 1994. Moving and storage continues to be the main focus of the company.
Today, Eagle Transfer Company operates multiple warehouse facilities storing household goods as well as general merchandise. They have changed van line affiliation to United Van Lines and, as a United agent, continue to move families throughout the Northwest and the Western United States. Eagle Transfer has received the prestigious "Agent of the Month" award from United Van lines several times, symbolizing their commitment to top quality packing, moving and storage services.
LifeLine Ambulance Inc. is a preferred provider of specialized emergency medicine in the North Central Washington area. Service coverage runs 24 hours per day every day of the year.
LifeLine conducts local and long distance emergency and medical transportation. Cabulances furnish wheelchair and invalid transportation to and from medical and convalescent centers.
Operations are conducted from multiple facilities and cover a geography of approximately 22,500 square miles.
Eagle Administrative Services was formed in 1986 to provide administrative support to the Eagle Group of companies.
The Company administers accounting services, payroll, fleet administration, centralized billing, credit and collection policies, banking, human resources, and legal services to the group.
In 1994, the company purchased an imaging system and has successfully converted a paper intensive environment into a digitized network which allows equal access by all authorized employees.
